Stormy Bass

Stormy Bass
Stormy Bass
Milsey Bay, North Berwick, March 2018.
Scotland was in the grip of the Beast From The East storm. For three days sub zero temperatures, thick snow showers and high winds battered the entire country relentlessly. On day two of the storm I spent nearly three hours at Milsey Bay in North Berwick trying to make sense of the chaos that was occurring in front of me. High winds and the storm surge were relentlessly pushing waves into the Eastern side of the Bass Rock sending plumes of water 30-40 feet into the air. Seagulls were swooping down all around me searching for any patch of calm water too feed. As the sun started to set on day two, a break in the clouds allowed just enough of this beautiful faint golden glow to shine through and illuminate the passing snow shower. A beautiful fleeting moment.
